 Slimming Together’s Privacy Policy

 This page sets out Slimming Together’s privacy policy and explains how we collect and use your personal information in connection with your     relationship with us or potential relationship with us as a client through your visits to our website and possibly to our Slimming Together classes   and intensive courses. Our programme and website are not intended for use by children and we do not knowingly collect any information from   children.

 Who Are We

 Slimming Together was established on Jersey in 1986 by founder and principle, Joanne Reid Rodrigues. Slimming Together promotes education   for health, weight-management, cognitive behavioural therapy, life-management, nutrition, natural approaches for spiritual, mental, emotional,   and physical wellbeing. We promote our programme via our website, classes, courses, distance-learning courses, membership, e-newsletters,   and via social and status media.

 Why We Collect information from you

We process information about you only where we have a legitimate interest in doing so under GDPR laws. Such instances include:

•  • You purchase a book or merchandise from our website and we need to send the item to you.
•  • You sign up to receive our e-newsletters and consent to us doing so.
•  • You enrol in Slimming Together classes or courses.
•  • You schedule private consultations.
•  • You contact us and we need to respond.

 Information We Collect

The information that we obtain about you includes personal information such as your first name and last name, and where necessary, your date   of birth. In the event that you choose to enrol in the Slimming Together programme, we will also require an application form to be completed that   includes a general health questionnaire. We will never collect information from you unless it is relevant and necessary. There are some health   conditions that might require specific dietary and lifestyle guidance and we need to obtain this information to protect you and to protect   ourselves.

We also receive your billing address and delivery address and your e-mail address, and your telephone number.

Since Slimming Together chooses PayPal for all electronic monetary transactions, Slimming Together does not have access to your credit card   or bank information.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, which is a web service provided by Google. Google Analytics also uses cookies, to help the website analyse how you use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

 We Use Your Information in the Following Ways

 How Long Will We Keep Your Information?

If you have signed up to receive our e-newsletters, we will keep your e-mail address and contact information indefinitely while we are still   operating and sending e-newsletters or until you choose to unsubscribe or request erasure of such information. We store your information   securely. When a person enrols in Slimming Together and completes an application form with any special category data, such as medical   information, we store the form securely in a locked container and when it is no longer required we securely shred all information. Secure   shredding will occur within 12 months of having no contact with a client if they stop attending classes for any reason. Your financial and contact   information remains on the secure PayPal website and Slimming Together has no control over information stored on PayPal’s website.

 Third Parties / Is Your Data Transferred to Another Country?

To ensure added protection for our clients, Slimming Together has chosen PayPal and Mailchimp as appointed third parties. The information we   obtain from you may be transferred to and stored at a location outside of the European Economic Area. If our permitted third parties transfer   your information outside the European Economic Area, they will impose obligations on their staff to protect your information to the standard   required in the EEA.

 Profile Information

At this time, we do not have automated profiling in place. We categorise email information according to a person’s geographical location for the   purpose of sending e-newsletters that are relevant.

 Data Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. We have put in place appropriate physical and electronic procedures to secure   the information we collect online, as well as any physical information we might collect at Slimming Together classes.

 Disclosure To Third Parties

With the exception of PayPal and Mailchimp, we will never ever sell or share your information with anyone. We fully respect your privacy and we   simply want to be of service to you. Our raison d’etre is simply to make a positive difference in your life and in the lives of people we encounter.   We care about you and we will protect your information as we’d like our own information to be protected.

 Your Rights

You have the right to request a copy of any information that we hold about you.

You have the right to ask us to erase any information about you.

You have the right to withdraw consent to us sending you occasional e-newsletters.

If you choose to unsubscribe from e-newsletters, and you can do so at any time, the effect will be immediate.
If you request a copy of any information that we hold about you, we will respond swiftly and ensure your request is met within a 30-day period.
